Karachi Burns!

May 13, 2007 at 3:36 pm (Politics)

Karachi burns, someone fired a gun; my city bleeds. Day two and the financial hub of the country remains a battle ground. Ironically, on Friday night when I read the news item on BBC titled “Karachi braced for judge protest.” I said to myself , “they are making it sound like we are preparing for an attack. The irony just continues to amuse me.

35 lives lost yesterday to the violent clashes, another shot dead today. The injured, damn I don’t even remember the count but it’s huge.

I don’t care anymore about who is doing what. All I know is that it’s not us Karachietes; not in the true sense of the word at least. We sit at our homes, watching the events unfold on the televisions as different groups/parties continue their rampage. We are not a part of this; we are the bloody victims ourselves. A strike in Karachi means no fuel for the cars, no transport for the public, worse of all no ambulances for the sick and the injured. These bastards didn’t even leave the ambulances alone.

Leave us alone god damn it. Take your fucking politics and your spite somewhere else!

These pictures tell a very sad story. Damn! Karachi looks like a war zone.

sad … very sad images … ambulances burnt, bullets fired at a local news channel’s office, even apartment residents nearby received 18 bullets or more all day long, so much ammunition, such heavy arms, such bold display of arms, this country’s rulers had gone to the dogs the day they hung Bhutto, but now the consequences have taken a toll, a final blow to demolish the rights view of justice where everyone is dealt equally according to the law. I wish I had a tank which could fire 500 bullets per second, the least i could’ve done was to make those arses surrender, my ulterior motive would still be NOT to kill those bastards but to bring them under the blind law, that fucking blindest law of them all, still wagging their tales behind the British system, musharraf ahh ….. you fuck up! you bushlikin no good thug, may you rot in hell. Where the fuck was ur army when it was needed? you couldve moved it inside the city to save innocent people and those who suffered while saving lives … where the fuck did that EXHAUSTIVE spending on the army go when karachi burnt ruthlessly? why the fuck did the rangers go into hiding when it was time to strike? why the hell was altaf hussain’s speech not sabbotaged by vandals? why the crazy fuck didnt our ex-CJ not go by the friggin helicopter when he was offered to? he had to deliver a speech didnt he? just a speech or did he have another penultimate motive? Karachi has always been so prone to violence, its a gangsters paradise.
Today i hold my head down in shame and admit that YES Pakistan is a failed state :(.
    Ameen.

Another showdown for a country that was in intentions always meant to post a similar picture. Lets not look down to the future, just hope for the best, maybe we will rise in the world with different leaderships, only to say that with the military always interrupting the democratic system of this country, similar events will take place. Just let the system get on as it is, corrupt or not, sometime in the future someone will realize, but not with leaderships who are not meant to run the country when there job is actually to guard it in there respective post.
To be clear, I still think that Pakistan is one of those countries which can never, and i mean never, prosper in the fast advancing world.
